The Norwegian Football Junkie 1999 Senior Awards

Most Valuable Player
Runningback Fredrik Nanhed, OSI Vikings.
Simply a step -make that two- above. Showed his value in the important games - vs. London in the EuroCup champ'ship game and vs. Eidsvoll in the Norwegian champ'ship game.
Runner-up: Linebacker/Fullback Roger Graber, Eidsvoll 1814s.
1st Division Player of the Year
Fullback/Linebacker Jason Ready, Nidaros Domers.
Carried his team like no other player did -or had to- this season. A terror for opposing teams both on offense and on defense.
Runner-up: Fullback Nicolay Aslaksen, OSI Vikings.
2nd Division Player of the Year
Runningback Esben Warhuus, Arendal Wildcats.
Dominated early in the season, enough to keep this spot despite sitting out the last game with injury. Has speed, power and agility when running. A great blocker on pass plays.
Runner-up: Linebacker Sindre Stange, Bærum Blue Devils.
Rookie of the Year
WR Joakim Rød, Sandnes Oilers.
Outstanding speed, good hands and great attitude made Rød the go-to-guy in Oilers' offense. 18 catches, 240 yards, 5 touchdowns. Also had 10 rushes for 85 yards.
Runner-up: Tight End Stig Schjerpen, Bergen Storm.
Import Player of the Year
Quarterback/Safety Dan Luedtke, Eidsvoll 1814s.
Quite simply made plays. Tough guy who played both offense and defense most of the season. Always a threat to turn a broken play into a TD. Lethal passer with good scrambling ability.
Runner-up: Defensive back/returner/runningback/receiver Howie Inniss, OSI Vikings.
Coach of the Year
Head Coach Chris Gauvreau, OSI Vikings.
This was a very, very close the award due to the Vikes becoming EuroCup runner-ups, winning the Norwegian champ'ship and getting ranked #14 in Europe by AMPRO.
Runner-up: Head Coach
Don Jess, Hamar Ruins.
